Welcome to our website
Welcome to our website! We are a small, friendly ladies' choir set up in1975 in the Portsmouth area. We sing a wide range of music from Bach to Bacharach, our repertoire includes music from the shows such as "Les Miserables" and "Phantom of the Opera", to more modern pieces like Westlife's "You Raise Me Up" and The Military Wives' popular "Wherever You Are". Over the years, the choir has raised thousands of pounds for both local and national charities, and we have entered into many Music Festivals. Nowadays, we concentrate more on entertaining folk and perform many concerts throughout the year in different venues in and around Portsmouth, including a concert in aid of The Lord Mayor's Appeal at the Guildhall, and summer and Christmas concerts at John Pounds Church in Old Portsmouth. The Choir is available to hire for Weddings and other occasions.
Many things about us has changed recently, even our old green uniforms have disappeared, and we need more members to help us move onwards and upwards.

New Members Welcome!
New members are always welcome! We would love YOU to join our choir? Rehearsals take place in Southsea at 7.30 p.m. We have had to leave the Stacey Center as we were finding it a bit cramped so will be rehearsing at Cottage Grove School until we can return to St.Lukes Church Hall. Sadly Estella Lloyd reluctantly agreed to step down as our Musical Director last year due to her ill health. Estella has dedicated 41 years to the choir and her selfless teaching and unquestionable knowledge of music, together with her disciplined attention to detail has made the choir what it is today.
Determined to continue to work to Estella's high standards, The Cantrelle Singers have been so very lucky to find Heather Uden to join us as our new conductor. Heather is a real inspiration and has fitted in so well, how she puts up with us at times is a mystery, but she has agreed to stay with us and we are overjoyed.
